How Do I Get Medical Cannabis in Central Florida?
The first step to getting medical cannabis in Central Florida to schedule an appointment with Atlantic Coast Cannabis, MD, if you have a qualifying medical condition, or think you might be eligible.
Here’s how to get medical cannabis in Florida:
- If you have a qualifying condition (or think you might have a qualifying condition), schedule an appointment with our office.
- Complete necessary patient paperwork and return to us with medical records from your diagnosing physician.
- Show up for your appointment with the doctor on time.
- Based on your qualification, our physician may issue a medical cannabis recommendation to the state of Florida.
- Our physician will then enter your information into the state registry.
- Once you are entered into the state registry, your physician will provide you with your Patient ID Number. You will need this to apply for your required Registry Identification Card (Remember to provide your physician with your email address to receive important updates)
- Patients and their Caregivers will then apply for their Registry Identification Card – Patients and Caregivers may complete an electronic or paper identification application, as well as submit the $75 application processing fee to the state. Electronic applications process within 5 to 10 business days. Please allow more time for processing mailed in paper applications.

- you can either complete the application online, or download and mail in th to the State of Florida at the address given in the form, along with all payment requirements to submit your information for your medical cannabis ID card.
- Receive your ID card in the mail and get your order from a certified medical marijuana dispensary
How to get a Medical Cannabis Card:
- Meet the following General Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must register with the Department of Health–Done in our Office at time of your visit.
- Must be Florida Resident.
- Must have tried other treatments without success and ordering physician must determine risks of use are reasonable in respect to the benefits to the patient.
- Authorization for release of health information for whomever is treatment debilitating conditions.
- Must specify release of ONLY records related to this condition.
- Records MUST BE CURRENT: the practice only accepts patients who have been diagnosed and/or treated for the condition in the past 12 months.

- Complete the forms online. Please make sure to do ALL 3 Pages with a fax number for your physician, so we may obtain your medical records.
- During your initial exam, our physician will conduct a complete history and record review.
- If you qualify for medical cannabis, physician will initiate the Florida Cannabis Registry Process.
- Arrive on time for your evaluation and recommendation appointment with the doctor.
- You must send the State of Florida your completed Medical ID application along with your $75 application fee.
- The State of Florida will provide your permanent ID number via email. You can use the email from the state to obtain medical cannabis until you receive your physical ID card. Just be sure to print out a copy of the state approval letter when you pick up your medication.
- A physical ID card will be mailed to you at the address on your application.
- After receipt of your card, you will be eligible to go to the dispensary.
